Maine Fresh Fallen Snow - 10 x 8" oil on canvas
I took a class today with Kenn Backhaus at the HIghlands Gallery in Bernardsville, New Jersey. This is the last of three paintings that I did today. He is an amazing teacher and Cheryl at Highlands makes the class so enjoyable, and makes all of the artists feel so welcome. It's my third class there, and I have grown to love these mini-retreat painting classes. My next class will focus on trees and I'm very excited about it! Check back in a few weeks to see the results.

Tulips and Oranges - 8 x 6" oil on canvas
I took a week off from the competition due to life getting in the way. I am happy to be back for the last half of the month's paintings! This is a teeny-tiny painting which measure 8 x 6". I am not used to painting so small but love the look of tiny paintings, and being able to fit so much into such a small space. Plus, it's easy to find a place to hang it!

New Hope Train - oil on panel -16 x 12"
This is Day 3 of the 30 Day Challenge. I went on this very train last weekend with my 11 year old daughter and husband. It was a beautiful ride through the countryside. There was beautiful Christmas music playing, and we had the pleasure of sitting in the bar car and having a Guiness while taking our 1 hour trip. The picture I used as reference was one taken last summer. I may do a winter painting of the same train during this challenge as well.

Oil on canvas, 8 x 10 framed $395
So this is Day 2 of the 30 day paint challenge. This is my result today. Can you tell I'm wanting to go to Florida, but stuck in very cold Pennsylvania? I was very lucky today because as I painted this I felt like I was on Sanibel.
This painting comes framed in a 3" gold frame with shipping prepaid.

Pennsylvania Blues - 6 x 6 oil/panel $195
Well, I am excited to announce that I've fulfilled day 1 of the Leslie Saeta's 30 Day Paint Challenge! Yay, only 364 days of keeping those resolutions. This is a snapshot of my view on the ride home this afternoon. I went with the entire family to see "Les Mis." Then told them all I was locking myself in my studio to paint. It was almost a perfect end to a perfect day. The perfect end comes now because we are all going out to Gallasos for dinner. I am so happy I didn't do something ridiculous like give up carbs for New Years. Looking forward to this inspiring challenge and I hope you enjoy the next 30 days of paintings!
