Rice's Before the Rain
I spent the last week painting throughout Bucks County as a fundraiser for a wonderful local organization called Access Services. They offer many services for children and adults with special needs, and as I have a daughter with Down Syndrome, it is near and dear to my heart.
Seven artists came from around the country, as far away as Colorado, to paint for a week here in Bucks County. I was the only "local" artist and proud to be included. Plein Air is not necessarily my forte but I really had a great time, and could see doing more of it when the weather cools down!
On Wednesday we all descended on downtown Doylestown to paint the city blocks and landmarks like the County Theater. There were easels sticking out from between many of the cars parked on the street, and the interest from passerby traffic was amazing. It was also fun to see how different eight artists interpret and paint the local theater.
Tonight there is a reception at Timmons Gallery, with Champagne and goodies. All of the work will be on display from the week's labors. I hope you can join us if you are in the area!
