I am so excited about this year so far! So many new and exciting things have happened. I am thrilled to announce that I am now represented by two new galleries, in addition to my current galleries. They are both beautiful venues and I am excited to have my paintings displayed there. The first is the new Rich Timmons Studio and Gallery in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The gallery owner has just completed renovations to a beautiful stone building, opening up this grand entrance and foyer with three floors of exquisite works by many talented and amazing artists.
My works are also available now through Twenty-Two Gallery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is exciting because it is a gallery/co-op and I have always wanted to participate in an artist's cooperative but hadn't found the right fit. This one is in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia, which is where most of the great galleries in Philadelphia are located. There was one spot available and after an extensive interview process and then a meeting downtown last night I was offered the spot! (Insert happy dance here that was done well outside the eyes of the gallery owner.)
So, I don't know how 2012 can get much better. I just thought I'd share the news with you all and invite you to stop by if you're ever in the area.
Have a fantastic day!

Studio Update 1/13/12
Here is today's progress from out in the studio. It was so beautiful this morning....nice and toasty in the studio with snow swirling outside. I felt like I was working in a snow globe! I have some beautiful tulips, roses, and lilies that I'm painting....only the tulips and a rose have made it into the painting so far but there are many more flowers to come! I am also working on a large (36 x 48") landscape. I can only work on the big one a few hours at a time, because for some reason it kills my shoulder. I have found that alternating between the big painting and a smaller still life means I can actually walk at the end of the day.
I have been busy trying to finish a couple of paintings for upcoming juried shows that I want to enter and also a request from one of my galleries for some small works. It's been a hectic, but wonderful, beginning of 2012. I'll post again next week when these paintings are finished.....have a fantastic 3 day weekend!

I got back into the studio today after a two week hiatus and it was fantastic! I tested the limits of my heating system in my new studio because the high today here was 29 degrees. It was a gosh-darn cold first hour out there, but after changing into my long Uggs and a big scarf I was good to go!
So I finished up two paintings that have been hanging around in my studio since before break and then at the end of the day started this very large 36 x 48" block in of the Bucks County Playhouse. It takes on a special significance since I just read that a couple from Doylestown bought the Playhouse and it will be restored to it's former grandeur. It had been close to closing and being demolished. It has a very long history of many famous people performing there, as it's proximity to New York is good. The list includes Kim Hunter, Helen Hayes, Kitty Carlisle, Colleen Dewhurst, Shirley Booth, Sara Seegar, Lillian Gish, June Lockhart, Frances Reid, Peggy McCay, Grace Kelly, Bonnie Franklin, Kaye Ballard and Sandy Dennis have all appeared in performances. A list of actors includes Farley Granger, Robert Redford, Paul Lynde, Kevin McCarthy, Bert Lahr, Leslie Nielsen, Jack Klugman, Gale Gordon, Roddy McDowell, Walter Matthau, Merv Griffin and Larry Hagman. I am thrilled that it will continue on as a theater and plan on being there for many future performances (in the audience, I have horrible stage fright!)
So that is some background on my current inspiration. I will post as the painting progresses. I hope you all had as nice a break as I did, relaxing and rejuvenating. As happy as I was to get back to painting, I wouldn't have traded a second of spending time with my daughters home from college the last two weeks. Happy New Year!
